Despite South Korea’s status as a world leader in Internet speed and broadband adoption, the level of Internet freedom has only decreased for its citizens over the past decade. South Korea continues to pervasively block content related to the ongoing conflict between North and South Korea. The government has recently increased the amount of filtering of pornography and gambling sites. Additionally, the government targets a handful of torrent and streaming sites.
